Mental Game

Attitude

When the pressure is on, some players thrive and others crumble.  Competition and high stakes can have a different effect on everyone.  How does a player maintain mental focus and avoid disruptions?

Attitude

Mental Focus is learned

Just as it takes training to define physical skills, the same type of training must be leveraged in order to achieve a disciplined mental approach to playing sports.

Confidence vs Insecurity

Insecurity, or doubt in ones own ability is usually a person's unconscious way of establishing an excuse when our performance is less than satisfactory.

Emotions

Unlike most sports, in pool "emotion" can hinder a pool players performance.  When a player finds themselves in "The Zone", they describe it as if they are almost in another state of mind, absent of emotion, but completely tranquil and calm.

Discipline and Control

At Trinity Billiards, you will work on the mental game as much as the physical mechanics so you can find the true balance with both sides in order to play your best.
